Having served as a Baptist minister for almost forty years in mid-Wales, North Wales and South-West Wales, Patrick – with his wife Gwenith – retired to Neath in 2007. He was privileged to be invited to join the Board of YMCA Neath as chaplain in 2012 or thereabouts.

Dr Bryn John CStJ DL

Dr Bryn John was a GP in Briton Ferry between 1975 & 2011 and was Medical Director of NPT LHB 2003 -2008 . He has chaired the Welsh Medical Committee, BMA Wales and the GP Welsh Committee. He was presented with the BMA association medal in 2008 for services to medicine and national medical politics.

He was High Sheriff of West Glamorgan in 2009 -2010 and was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of West Glamorgan in 2013.

He is a past chairman and president of Neath Round Table and is still active in Neath Rotary Club. He is a Board member of Neath & District Sea Cadets and West Glamorgan St John Council and a Trustee of Heartbeat Trust UK. He was Hon Medical Officer of Neath RFC for over 20 years and is now a life member of the club.

He has a long association with Neath YMCA since his son played for the soccer team in the 80s and has attended the Good Friday Breakfast for many years.

Bryn joined the YMCA Neath Board of Trustees in 2012.

Professor Emeritus Duncan Lewis

Professor Duncan Lewis was Acas Professor at the University of Glamorgan before joining Plymouth Business School as Professor of Management in 2010. Duncan retired in 2019 but retains academic interest as Adjunct Professor at Edith Cowan University Business School in Perth, Western Australia.  Duncan is Managing Director of Longbow Associates Ltd, a boutique consultancy specialising in workplace bullying/harassment/discrimination research.

Duncan has authored numerous publications throughout his career and has been a mainstream researcher on funded studies in Britain and Ireland with a value of over £1.5M. He continues to publish research and works with organisations to understand and change inappropriate workplace cultures.  Duncan has been a significant contributor to NHS organisations and recently contributed to the design of a civility and respect toolkit and cost of bullying and harassment calculator for NHS England/NHS Improvement. 

Duncan joined the YMCA Neath Board of Trustees in 2020.
