YMCA Neath’s Baby Bank was created to ensure babies and young children in Neath Port Talbot are happy, healthy, and safe. This is only possible when families can provide their children with the best possible foundation in life. To achieve this, families need to be able to meet the basic material needs of their children. We aim to alleviate the burden on families when this is not possible.
Due to the unprecedented demand we received when starting this programme, we have had to put certain processes in place, which are the following:
Any user requiring the baby bank more than three times should be invited to a consultation to establish if any additional support such as benefit advice, budgeting help, or signposting to other organisations such as Foodbanks can be offered.
Information collected from the consultation, including personal details, should be recorded and retained as per our GDPR procedure.
Our existing safeguarding policy should always be followed, and any concerns for someone’s welfare should be reported appropriately.
Here at YMCA Neath we aim to serve everybody and treat everybody fairly. We will always work with every parent/guardian to provide better outcomes for our families moving forward so please contact us if you or a family member require some extra support.
Please forward referral forms to info@neathymca.org.uk a member of our team will be in touch.
