“Veterans Club are very pleased to announce a new Partnership with YMCA Neath where we will be holding an Armed Forces Dropin EVERY WEDNESDAY commencing 3rd July 1230hrs to 1600hrs.”

VC usual support and assistance will be available along with further information on a host of Events & Activities hosted by YMCA NEATH and their other Partners.

HM Armed Forces PTSD Support Group and Social Hub, tackling PTSD, Isolation and Transitional issues arising from or attributable to Service in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.

Veterans DO NOT have to be suffering from PTSD and can attend for advice, banter and camaraderie !!

Veterans Club is Veteran Lead, Not for Profit and Community Organisation.
Staffed by VOLUNTEER HMF Veterans and Supporters (no one is paid.)

Veterans Club is open to Serving HM Armed Forces, Veterans, their family, friends and Supporters of HM Armed Forces.

We run a number of Dropins / Meetings (Currently 12 a week) in and around Swansea, Cardiff, Neath Valley (Cwmgwrach, Glynneath) Port Talbot and Brecon!

The aim is to Support those Suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) reduce Isolation and to assist those struggling to adjust to Civilian life.
Meetings/ Dropins are informal and in a Variety of Venues so as to offer something for everyone, encourage banter and build the Camaraderie that perhaps has been missing.

Veterans Club holds Events and Fundraisers and everyone is encouraged to join in.

Our membership ranges in age from 20’s to 80’s and our Oldest Member is 83 years young!

Disability isn’t a barrier (we have several members who are wheelchair bound, visually impaired and amputees.)

They come from all Branches of the Armed Forces, Active Service experience isn’t a requirement to joining us.

We ALL Served, be it Regular or Reserve it doesn’t matter, EVERYONE is welcome.

Help and Support Available:

1. Dropins – reduce Isolation and provide banter, camaraderie and advice on PTSD and other related issues.
2. Signposting – to Clinicians, Professionals and other Third Sector Organisations.
3. Peer Mentoring – Veterans with PTSD who KNOW what it is to suffer and the impact it has on life and others.
4. DWP Paperwork – help to complete.
5. DWP Mandatory Reconsideration – help to complete request.
6. Support at Tribunals.
7. Support at DWP Medical Assessments.
8. Support at Court Hearings.
9. War Pension Claims – completion of and / or assistance.
10. Armed Forces Compensation Claims – completion and / or assistance.
11. Food bank deliveries – subject to qualifying criteria.
12. Social Events.
13. Community Events.
14. PTSD – Life Experience Presentations to reduce STIGMA of Mental Health and to increase awareness and understanding.
15. Advocacy – giving a voice to those who can’t / unable to represent themselves and or fight verbal cases.
